About Us.

The Broadway Wine & Bistro is entering its next chapter as a true family business, led by father-and-daughter partners Grady Mulbery and Becca Richards, with mom Sue playing an active role behind the scenes to help bring the family’s vision for The Broadway to life.

Becca serves as managing partner, returning home to Eugene after building an accomplished career in food, wine, and hospitality across New York and Oregon. Growing up in Eugene, she developed an early appreciation for great food, thoughtful hospitality, and the sense of community that places like The Broadway create.

Becca brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in the food and beverage industry, recently serving as Executive Chef and Culinary Director for Stoller Wine Group in the Willamette Valley. In that role, she established culinary programs across multiple winery campuses and brands, led large and diverse teams, and created elevated yet approachable food experiences for everything from intimate tastings and winemaker dinners to events hosting thousands of guests. Her work has been featured across regional and national media, and she has cooked for some of the most discerning audiences in hospitality, entertainment, and wine.

Trained at the French Culinary Institute in New York City, Becca’s career spans fine dining, multi-unit restaurant operations, winery hospitality, and large-scale event production. Her background blends creative vision with operational rigor—menu development, vendor relationships, labor strategy, and guest experience—making her uniquely suited to steward this beloved wine shop and bistro into its next chapter.

While Becca brings deep expertise in hospitality, wine and culinary operations, her parents contribute decades of leadership and business experience.  Though technically retired, the opportunity to go into business with his daughter turned out to be the one thing Grady couldn’t say no to!  He’s looking forward to mentoring Becca through this venture while learning about her world of food, wine, and hospitality.

As new owners of The Broadway Wine & Bistro, the family is excited to honor the legacy of this longtime Eugene institution built by previous owner Angus James, while evolving it thoughtfully: spotlighting exceptional wines, approachable food, and a welcoming space that feels both familiar and fresh for the community they’re proud to call home.

Meet Chef Jason Jackson

Chef Jason Jackson brings more than 30 years of culinary experience spanning a wide range of cuisines and techniques.

Growing up in a small community high in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains, Jason wasn’t exposed to fine dining at an early age. Instead, he was surrounded by exceptional home cooks who instilled in him a love of great food. Whenever his parents took him “down the hill” to a restaurant, he made a point of ordering something he had never tried before. That curiosity and adventurous spirit eventually inspired him to pursue a career in the culinary arts.

After studying culinary arts in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jason joined the celebrated Italian restaurant Venezia in Berkeley, where he spent ten years working his way from line cook to Executive Chef. During his time there, he developed a deep appreciation for handmade pasta, classic Italian techniques, and the importance of sourcing fresh, seasonal ingredients. His dedication to his craft earned the respect of both his colleagues and loyal guests.

Seeking to be closer to family, Jason returned to the Sacramento area and joined The Waterboy, one of the region’s pioneering farm-to-table restaurants. There, he continued refining his classical techniques while expanding his commitment to thoughtful, ingredient-driven cooking.

Like many people, the pandemic inspired Jason to make a fresh start. In 2021, he and his wife relocated to Eugene, where he found a new culinary home.

Since joining The Broadway in October 2022, Chef Jason has led the kitchen with creativity, consistency, and a passion for memorable dining experiences. His thoughtfully crafted wine dinners have earned praise from both guests and winemakers alike, showcasing his ability to create menus that celebrate exceptional wines and seasonal Northwest ingredients.

Today, Jason is excited to continue building relationships with local farmers, ranchers, fishermen, and artisans as he helps shape The Broadway into one of Eugene’s premier food and wine destinations.
